The Red House

So our house is RED...... I kind of missed a few pictures, of our siding and other things, but it is coming down to the wire and we are almost about to move in. I don't know if you can see in the picture, but our yard has been trenched and we are putting in sprinklers. Jess and I are way excited.

My new neighbor, Sway-- We took a picture because we wore matching shirts from our tennis class this summer.

This is just to prove that I build too. Somehow I've been designated to be the photographer of the family.

Framing The House

Framing the house has been long, but lots of fun. We had quite the experience learning new ways of putting wood together to build a house. We had lots of help from friends and family. Here are the pictures from start to almost the end of framing.

We used Chris's Crane service to fly our trusses.

I had a lot of other help from the Bear, Scott, Ben and Kim working on the second floor. Jessica's family helped out a lot too, I am not sure why she only snapped pictures of my side of the fam.

Each Step was more exciting. Getting our foundation poured and lumber dropped off was lots of fun.

Our Lot

So we have gotten started late with this whole blogging thing, but we want to share what we have been doing all summer long. If you didn't know Jessica and I have been building a house. We have been doing it for 6 of the 8 months that we have been married. It is looking good. So I will start form the beginning and show you pictures of our house going up. Back in April we purchased our lot. So here is your lot. Its a nice big corner lot.

I'm tired of not being able to comments on the blogs I read because I don't have one. So I'm making one! Plus-- I have to take "royceandjessica" before someone else does! I can't just hang around waiting for a baby to arrive or something blog-able to happen. There are probably tons of Jessicas married to guys named Royce that want this blog address....right? Okay-- no more excuses. I've given in. Besides-- we're building a house! That's blog-able, isn't it? We'll see if I use it...
