Jessica is Pregnant!!!

So the news is out. Jessica is pregnant. She is 11 weeks a long as of yesterday, and has a due date of July 12th.

We have had fun telling close family and friends. Last night we had a party with my friends where we had a white elephant gift exchange. We decided to tell everybody through the gift exchange by wrapping a positive pregnancy test. It was fun to watch everybody's reaction when it was opened as they looked around the room to see who was going to admit that they were pregnant.

Jessica's friends were also really fun to tell, as we have this one caught on camera. We got all the girls lined up to take a picture and then I said "ok everybody say Jessica is pregnant!"

"Jessica is preggnn.....Really?"

"AHHHHHHH!!!!"

We feel so blessed this time of year to have such great friends and family to share this good news with. We feel like it is a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas Steps

Christmas is a process and each of us take different steps to build toward that special day. Here are a few steps that Jessica and I have taken thus far.

The Nu Skin Christmas party has been a big part of Christmas in our lives for a few years. Jessica and I attended the party last night in which they celebrated the company's 25th year completed. The celebrated with a wonderful catered dinner for all that attended. Jessica wasn't to disappointed that I went another year with out winning any thing because she said she found her favorite dessert ever. I don't know if we ever got the name of it, but she loved it.

The day after Thanksgiving we went up with my family to go cut down our Christmas tree. It is a tradition that I have done with my family for years, and Jessica and I want to keep it up. Here are a few pictures.

Here is my mom, Amilia, Kim, Julia and Shari. Doing a little tree shopping.

We still have some fun steps to look forward, and blog about. Till then....

Halloween 2009

So Halloween was awesome as usual. Jessica and I had some great costumes. Jessica's costume is kind of hard to tell in the picture, but if you look close you can see that I rubbed her shirt in the dirt, and she has a really dirty face. She was a Dirty Blond, and I was Eye-candy, and I am getting my pose on. The sash that I am wearing reads Candy. There is kind of a glare in the picture and you can't read the D. Anyways, we had a good time.

The Team Buck

The deer hunt this year turned out to be awesome. The opener, like always, was ridiculous with the mountain covered with with hunters. But the next week we went out with the idea that we were going to get one. We left Wednesday night, and hunted hard Thursday and Friday. We saw a lot of deer, and a lot of small bucks. Then Saturday may dad spotted the monster buck. My cousin Neil and I got into position to move in on the buck. I kicked him out of the trees as I missed a shot as he was running away from me, but the deer didn't know he was running right into Neil. That's when Neil took him with two shots with his 270 short mag. He has 7 points on one side and 9 on the other with a 29 inch spread. He really is a buck of a life time.

2009 Alaska Adventure.

Jessica and I had quite the amazing Homer, Alaska Adventure over the last week. Jessica had been aching to go and visit her sister Britny, her boys Josh and Will, and most of all the two twins Gabe and Gracie. The visit was great. And I got to go fishing.

Halibut Fishing on the Sea Witch with Captain Jared Bradshaw:

This was the big fish of the trip. 234 lbs of halibut. Check out the post under this post to see the video of Jared bringing it into the boat.

Here is Jared on the right with a 130 lb halibut and the deck hand Joe with the 234 lb halibut. Two beautiful fish.
So you can see the size difference. Here is a 50 lb halibut. Still a Big fish.

I thought this was a really cool fish. A lot of people call this a red snapper, but the real name is a Yellow Eye, for the yellow ring around it's eye. Sweet looking fish though.

Here is the usual scene on the back of the Sea Witch after a day of fishing. These are the average size halibut caught. 20 to 30 pounds.
Kayaking in Alaska:

When we went Kayaking there was a seal just chilling on the dock. This is as close as we could get before he would start growling at us.

Here we are at Moose head point. A look out point that we stopped at on our Kayak tour.

Halibut Cove:

This is a beautiful cove with a surrounding community that you have to take a boat to get there. We went there to go to The Saltry Restaurant. Which is in the back ground of the picture here with Jessica, Will and Josh.

Here is the Danny J. People usually take the Danny J. to come over to Halibut Cove to go to the Saltry Restaurant, but since we were with the Bradshaws they let us bring our own boat.
Here are some of the awesome houses in Halibut Cove.

We also saw lots of wild life including a Orcas, Porpoises, Sea otters, Seals, Moose, and a Black Bear.

Thank you very much Bradshaw family for making this a trip of a life time. We will never forget our Alaska Adventure.

240 lb halibut catch on the Sea Witch

We caught the big fish coming in on tape. It is pretty amazing.

Deer Creek

We were at the lake last night and here is Isaac trying a back roll. Looks like more of a back to front roll. Takes a really good crash though. Dillon landed a sweet back roll. Sorry Dillon, I didn't get that one on film.

The Reezen

I had to post a picture of the new bow that I just bought. It is a Mathews Reezen bow. It has a 30" draw and is currently set at 70 lbs. The bow is rated at 340 feet per second. I am way excited to get out and fling some slivers at something.

Zions Trip

We have really good friends who invited us to go to Zions with them. Kyle Kinateder had some work to do on a model for a resort down outside of Zions. They gave us a two story cabin sweet cabin to stay in for the night and free food at the restaurant. It was sweet. The next day we went into Zions and did the 4 mile hike up to the look out point. 4 miles doesn't seem that far till you learn that it is all switch backs up a cliff.

Lake Powell

Jessica and I loved our week at Lake Powell. We even made it up to Rainbow Bridge which I have been too since I was like 12. I really is amazing.

Other then water skiing and wake boarding my dad and I found some time to drown an anchovy or two, and I caught this nice striped bass. They are always fun to reel up.

Here is Jessica on the back of the house boat indulging in the sun, a little water, and a..... science fiction book?

No one could compete with the Bear and I in the pits. We whooped Scotty and all his buddies.

She Just Won't Stop Staring

I don’t know if I have ever had such a tortuous week here at Nu Skin Enterprises. All day long I can’t get it out of my mind. There are endless people who are constantly reminding me, I mean at least every fifteen minutes there is some one that steps into my cubicle to remind me, and then every time I walk past the cafeteria there she is staring me down, almost laughing in a way, saying you weren’t even ever close to having me. So here it is:

You see I am #1. There are four teams left in the tournament, and my bracket has sky rocketed to the top of the chart. But this isn’t any old March madness bracket. No this is the Nu Skin corporate bracket, and this year Nu Skin decided to do a little prize for the winner. This year they are giving away a brand new scooter, and with Villanova upsetting Pittsburg it has moved me right up to the top with 101 points.

How exciting right? No, actually it’s not exciting at all. It is torture. I kind of wish my bracket would have fallen apart way back in the first round. I think I should have been one of those dorks who put Utah and BYU into the Final 4. At least then I wouldn’t be kicking myself knowing that I was one pick away from a brand new scooter. You see even though I am at the top of the charts, I can’t win! I so stupidly picked Wake Forest to meet North Carolina in the final two. Wake was suppose to be my dark horse, but ended up being a little pony as all of you know since they fell in the first round to Cleveland State a 13 seed. So it is hard now that everybody here at Nu Skin now knows my name. It is hard to see the company wide email saying “Royce King is number one with only four teams left.” Yeah I am at the top, but I am like the only one of the top three who doesn’t have both their final two still planning to put their shoes on the court this weekend. I am the only one of the top three who knows that there is no way that I am going to win that scooter. I keep praying that Connecticut pulls out the victory and then they say sorry we are going to disqualify you for your illegal recruiting moves. And then nobody advances and UNC wins and I win the Scooter. But that is just me dreaming. Really I just keep on kicking, repeating “What was I thinking?”

1 YEAR!!!

1 Year !!!

Jessica and I had our 1 year anniversary on the 18th of this month. We took the weekend off and went up to Jackson Hole. We had a beautiful blue bird day on the famous Jackson Hole Mountains Ski Resort.

It is an amazing mountain to ski and has a tram that goes up nearly 4000 ft to the top of the Tetons.

Jessica didn't believe me when I said "We are going to move here some day." What an awesome place. I could get away with putting deer antlers everywhere.

So everybody keeps telling us that our blog is boring and that we need to update it, and Jessica keeps telling me her computer is on the fritz and doesn't have time. So I am doing some updating.

We are finally in our new house. After 7 long months of building and after finishing 7 houses we are moved in and loving it. It is a great feeling to know that we built our first house which we hope to make a great home.

Our new ward welcomed us in great by asking us to talk about the 3rd Sunday of being in the ward and now have given us both callings. I got assigned to the young men’s, and Jessica is a visiting teaching coordinator.

We had a wonderful Christmas break and we were able to spend some great time with family skiing, eating and enjoying great company. We even made it up to my dad's property to cut down our very first Christmas tree.

My brother Ben and his wife Krystal with their 6 month old boy Dayton came to town for the holidays. It was wonderful to see them and get to know Dayton. He has grown a lot in his first 6 months and already has a huge personality. We love them and wish they didn't live in Buffalo. That is really far away.
We have been blessed this last year. Our first year together: we got married, I graduated from college, we both got good secure jobs and we built a house together. We can’t wait to see what the new year has to offer us.

This was our first home together.
